Diving Into Generative AI

Generative AI is generative artificial intelligence which describes algorithms that are used to create new content. A few ways people may use AI is to create images, videos, answer questions, or to create schedules. As time passes people are trying to figure out ways AI can be helpful and ways that it can be harmful. A few pros of AI is it makes things more convenient by provide quick answers and it can provide human like answers that provide a better understanding A few cons of Ai is that it is said to be doing harm to the economic well being of people and businesses, it undermines critical thinking skills, and it can spread harmful misinformation. As a future special education teacher I plan to utilize AI in my classroom, but I don’t my students to have much if any access to it. I plan to use AI to create any lesson plans, help create schedules, and any things that I need created quickly I plan to use it for. I don’t plan on letting my students use Ai because it is not very beneficial for them to use as school age students. Ai is a powerful tool and students don’t need access to something so powerful until they are responsible enough to use judgment to say whether or not ai is needed in that moment.

Im doing research on the benefits and harms of Ai. I want to try to dive deeper into what it actually is, what do people use it for, and how it can benefit my classroom. I have read a lot about how AI is not good environmentally. I am curious to know more about that. I never thought something like a website or an online robot could be having such a big impact on the environment. I am also curious to know why AI became so popular all if a sudden since it has always been around.
